Approaching quickly we have a couple of events that we are extremely excited about. The Longhorn Open powerlifting meet hosted at the University of Texas in Austin by Kim Beckwith and the Longhorn powerlifting team. Nov. 22 is coming up quick and we are ready! Our team typically has a rich successful history at the Longhorn, we have had many records broken, lots of medals earned, and we even have achieved several team trophies in the past. We have many lifters attending this year including new members, returning members, and a few alumni. Gregory Johnson has even made plans to come by and help coach to ensure the teams success.
Coach Tommy will be gone attending another powerlifting competition at the same time. He will be competing in the North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) Bench Press Regional Championships on Team USA. Pretty exciting! The competition will be in Acapulco, Mexico.
So as you can see this is a busy month for the team. We see nothing but overall progress!

The semester is quickly approaching and soon school ill beginning. Many have contacted me about joiing the team and competing and we have almost every single person form the previous season returning to compete this year. I am very excited. Each year we have grown in numbers in quality and in quantity. This will be our best year yet just as each year we have inproved upon the previous. Soon we will have our first meeting of the semester and team practice will beginning. This year members will expect to travel across Texas and out of state for the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus Ohio, USAPL Collegiate Nationals in Orlando, Florida, and to USAPL Raw Nationals in Denver, Colorado. This is becoming a very eventful year. A torch of leadership has been passed to James Meador as be is becoming the President of the team this year and I am putting my focus on coaching only as he takes roles of administration. I will be graduating soon and will be here for the remainder of the year at the very least, so I will be here till at the latest August for USAPL Bench Press Nationals in San Antonio, Texas!!!!
See you soon
Introductory meeting for returning and new members
September 8th at 6pm at Freebirds World Burrito
Team Practice will begin the following week September 9th and will be held
Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 7pm

We have returned to San Angelo from our trip to Austin where we competed at the USAPL Longhorn Open hosted by Kim Beckwith and The Longhorn Powerlifting team.
Every lifter on our team earned a trophy as an indivdual in their respected division of their weightclass.
Even greater, our team cohesion was at an all time high! Everyone was helping eachother warm up, get ready, and when competing; it was a beautiful thing.
Our team cohesion paid off, we walked away with the Combined team 1st place trophy. I could not have had a more proud moment. I still remember our first time to win a team trophy as the Angelo State Ram Powerlifting team. back in 2010 we cometed as a team for the first time, a men's collegiate team, and we earned second place ranking. Now a few years stronger with a bigger team we have coem back to the same meet. the Longhorn Open, and acheved a greater accomplishment.
Great job team, we will continue to prosper and do bigge and better things. I am excited for our next event, the Soutside Classic in San Antonio, Texas held on December 15th hosted by the awesome Wes Zunker of UTSA, Southsied Highschool, and Texas Strength Systems (www.TexasStrengthSystems.com).

It has been quite some time since we have posted on the site, almost a year i guess.
We jsut finished Volunteering for the 2nd Annual Benching for Boobies bench press comeptition to raise money for breast cancer. it was a hit event! we finished the event with a Two-MAn Deadlift comeptition with 765 poudns loaded onto the barbell and participants were required to max out on repetitions. The winners completed 15 repetitions!
We are currently getting ready to compete in the Longhrn Open in Austin Texas at the University of Texas.
We will be bringing 11 lifters to competeas a combined team of men and women invarious weight classes. We have several brand new lifters who have never competed at a powerlifting meet, this will be exciting and a memorable experience for many.
We get to compete the same weekend as our University HAndball club, who we will support as they will also support us. So this will be an action packed fun filled weekend.
